Formed in 1995, Herpes Ö DeLuxe is a four-piece group from Bern, Switzerland, operating between atmospheric noise, bruitist electronica, sombre soundscapes and harsh drones. Their palette combines analogue electronic gear with self-built and deconstructed tools — tape loops, modified turntables (mis)used as rhythm machines, and other inventive devices. Beyond conventional concerts, Herpes Ö DeLuxe have undertaken numerous interdisciplinary projects: they created the live music for the theatre production Habgier and regularly produce soundtracks for the pyrotechnic interventions of artist Pavel Schmidt (Solothurn / Munich), performances that typically take place in museums and art spaces. They also team up occasionally with singer Beat-Man (frontman of the garage-rock/punk band The Monsters): as Reverend Beat-Man & The Church Of Herpes they explore a more song-oriented approach — closer to conventional pop structures, but with a deliberately noisy edge. Herpes Ö DeLuxe comprises Von Wurstfinger, Hess, BlindDoc and Roger Z.
