Where The Strange Creatures Live

A.Spell is a trio in perfect balance: vocalist/accordionist Nadja Stoller, bass-clarinetist/electronics architect Jan Galega Brönnimann, and Cape Town–born percussionist Ronan Skillen (tabla, didgeridoo). On their debut Where the Strange Creatures Live, songs unfold within carefully shaped lyrical and structural contexts, each with its own spatial feel. Unfamiliar instrument pairings and playful electronics generate a vivid sonic world: bass clarinet and tabla entwine with agile programming and a provocatively voiced accordion, while Stoller’s otherworldly vocals hover above—evoking mythic beings, mountain secrets, and lost traces. The album travels through surreal dreamscapes with curiosity and poise.
