EP cover: Alphatronic - Technico Electric (front)

Technico / electric

Alphatronic’s music is rooted in ambient-electro. He programs all his own sounds and is constantly exploring new rhythmic structures that give them space to breathe. He’s no fast-food producer—more an old-school sound-seeker. Commercial viability doesn’t interest him; what matters is the continuous refinement of a personal sonic language. You can hear that evolution across his releases—alpha (1998), morpin & metal bar (1999), solitary (1999), EP 2000 (2000), Duke (2003), Sonic Landscapes (2009), Cybersyn (2011)—and in his live sets. Since the 1980s, Alphatronic has collaborated with influential artists such as Marco Repetto, Bruno Spoerri, Daniel Kueffer, Tom Vedvik, Martin Tillman, Waedi Gysi, and DJ Ramax, as well as performance artists like COCO, André Stitt, and Edy Marconi. He prefers to work behind the scenes, but he never forgets to share his discoveries with listeners.
