Live in Willisau

The Fabulous Dance Machine tears down genre walls with a simple goal: get people moving. Since 2005, Lucerne bassist and electronic musician Jesús “jet” Turiño has steered an improvised club-night concept where nothing is preplanned—no rehearsed forms, no setlist—only spontaneous construction in the moment. It’s an approach familiar to jazz, but radical on DJ-oriented floors: electro, funk, urban grooves, jazz, industrial, metal, and house collide, shaped by whichever lineup steps on stage. Across packed nights at UG in Lucerne, the ILM Festival (Sedel Luzern), Jazzfestival Willisau, and Novjazz Huttwil, Turiño’s rotating cast—Bruno Amstad, Roberto Domeniconi, Christy Doran, Hans-Peter Pfammatter, Roman Pfaffenlehner, Javier Turiño, Urban Lienert, Meienberg, Fredy Studer, Fabian Kuratli, Arno Troxler, Raffael Woll, Chrigel Bossard, Dominik Burkhalter, Patrick Zosso, and more—has kept the Machine restless and current. From rock-elegiac trios (with Patrick Zosso and Christy Doran) to spacey, hard-hitting quartets (with Fabian Kuratli, Roman Pfaffenlehner, Bruno Amstad), every show is a fresh configuration, a new chemistry, a different route to the same destination: collective lift-off.
