Ice Cold Pop
- by Ige*timer
The moment—hard to enter, harder to capture. Ige*timer devote themselves to that pursuit. Letting music grow from whatever surrounds them, Klaus Janek (double bass, laptop) and Simon Berz (handmade analog sound generators, electroacoustic drumsticks, and found materials) recorded three improvised pieces on tour in Baltimore, Philadelphia, and New Orleans. Nothing was preset; nothing reused. Ice Cold Pop documents how these cities sounded to them—site-specific, raw, and alive. Filmmaker Michelle Ettlin extends the journey with images inspired by the places, people, and music, turning this travelogue into something both audible and visible: a lean, artful portrait of time and place, caught in the act.
