v4w.enko & d’incise

v4w.enko is the project of Evgeniy Vashchenko, based in Kyiv, Ukraine. Founded in 2007 as a live-electronics project, it works with tightly integrated sound and video streams realised in real time through the manipulation of self-programmed algorithms. These algorithms often consist of simple modules that interact according to clear rules, producing emergent audiovisual structures that evolve moment to moment. d’incise is an electroacoustic musician working across composed and improvised formats — from electronica to musique concrète, drone, EAI and post-reductionist approaches. He concentrates on generating and manipulating acoustic sound sources and objects, embracing feedback and digital glitches while extracting microscopic details from sonic material. He values slowness and obsessive exploration of simple processes. d’incise coordinates the Insubordinations netlabel (dedicated to improvised musics), has been active in the Audioactivity collective and netlabel, and also works in graphic design and site-specific sound installations. Deeply influenced by free-culture principles, he freely shares his releases and creations online.
