Spain/Switzerland (*1989). Luz González is part of Bern’s independent art scene. Her practice spans composition, sound research and sound art. Since 2022 she has presented a solo project in experimental electronic music and co-founded NoRest!, a quartet for free improvisation. With scenographer Annatina Huwiler, González develops interdisciplinary sound objects—such as Dysphoria and z’Berg (recipient of the Lis und Roman Clemens Prize). She also works in the electroacoustic duo Minten & González with clarinetist Rebecca Minten, and created Superorganismus (2022) with the contemporary quartet Tramontana. Her work has been presented in Switzerland (Dampfzentrale, Walcheturm, Prozess), Germany (ZKM, Anachronismus, Madame Claude), Spain (MUNCYT, Sin Sal) and Northern Ireland (Sonorities Festival Belfast). González holds two master’s degrees—Composition: Creative Practice and Contemporary Arts Practice—and a BA in Sound Arts from the Bern University of the Arts (HKB), as well as a prior degree in Spanish and French literature and linguistics from the University of Bern. She also works part-time as an assistant in the Master Composition: Creative Practice at HKB.
