Les Poissons Autistes

Formed in 2001, Les Poissons Autistes—Philippe Simon and Stéphane Babey—work at the crossroads of noise, ambient, and electroacoustic practice. Folding guitar, bass, cello, trumpet, piano, voice, and location recordings into computer-based processes, they shape dense yet cinematic textures. The duo has released albums including Mal Foutu and pursued wide-ranging collaborations—most notably two records with Lausanne songwriter Hemlock Smith (Three Times Dead, later The Necrophone Sessions) that fuse their sculpted atmospheres with song form.
