Chris Dubflow
- Dub/
- Electronic
Born in 1966 in Solothurn, he began playing drums in 1981 with various reggae bands. He lived and worked in Jamaica from 1985 to 1990, where he gained extensive experience in local music and culture. In 1999 he shifted toward electronic dub and performed under various aliases as a live dub artist. In 2009 he launched the Chris Dubflow live-dub project. He has long worked with MPCs and analogue gear and continues to use this old-school setup both live and in the studio. He favours a classic workflow inspired by Lee “Scratch” Perry — 8-track recording, mixing console, outboard effects and intuition. “Go with the flow” is the guiding motto of Chris Dubflow. Collaborations include Tikiman (Paul St Hilaire), Bigga Baloo, Triptease, Saralène and Diana Levi.
