Bruno Spoerri (born 1935) began his career as a saxophonist in various Swiss jazz groups. After studying psychology he became a professional musician, composing for promotional and documentary films, feature films, television productions and radio plays. A pioneer of electronic music, he is a co-founder of the Swiss Center for Computer Music and a leading figure in Switzerland’s electroacoustic scene. His books include Jazz in der Schweiz (2005) and Musik aus dem Nichts: Die Geschichte der elektroakustischen Musik in der Schweiz (2010) — Music from the Void: The History of Electroacoustic Music in Switzerland.
