Pendulum
- by Digitalis
Since 2002, Roger Stucki and Nicolas Kellner have been producing as Digitalis. Their new album on Bern’s Everest Records is their most varied to date: from the slow-build tension of opener “Elektik”—which swells into a vivid release—to the pendulum swing between driving dance cuts like “Dying Sofa” and more contemplative passages. “Zen Fighter” suggests a night ride on Kraftwerk’s Autobahn, while “Zeerox” and the title track “Pendulum” break fresh ground with muscular basslines. Closing the circle, Holger Flinsch’s remix of “Dying Sofa” brings the record back to a state of calm. Pendulum captures Digitalis’ urge to explore the wide field between sound worlds while reconnecting with their electronic dance roots. The limited vinyl edition includes a download code for the full album plus bonus material—remixes by techno pioneer Marco Repetto, newcomers Tastatur, and the Mathon collective.
