Clapclap
Formed in 2002 in the Swiss Jura by Jean-Vincent France-Soir and Paul Arbear, Monpetitponey forged a reputation for high-voltage electro with a gleefully eclectic streak. After a self-produced debut (2004) and a run of explosive shows—from Bern to the Contemporary Culture Convention IV at the Reitschule—the duo popped up on compilations for Princess Tarta (RIP), Alpinechic, and Everest Records, leaving clear hoofprints across Switzerland’s underground. Clapclap (2008), produced with Julien Fehlmann, captures the project in full gallop: punchy synths, serrated hooks, and tongue-in-cheek bravado, with a standout cameo from the illustrious SNAX. It’s playful, brash, and built for the floor—an unruly trot that sprints into a full-blown stampede.
