Bolzplatz
A bolzplatz: a green patch behind an old industrial block, on the edge of a field, in the backyards of the suburbs. Kids skipping school, dealers in the dusk, bored teens on mopeds; grass, puddles, cracked asphalt—everything with its own pulse. Strotter Inst. translates this in-between zone into dense, accelerated rhythm architectures: dry clicks, scratchy frictions, broken basses—more complex and multi-layered than before. Are these images of a construction site, or a wet field under open sky? The record keeps shifting. Four tracks on a 10": one per side at 33 rpm, plus two hidden in alternate grooves at 45 rpm—or is it eight, depending on how you ride the speed? Bolzplatz is kinetic urban minimalism: the sound inside a street worker’s head.
