The World News, sent to us today by the composer Peter Hansen from the small Swedish island he lives on, is a unique piece by the pianist Hildegard Kleeb. Kleeb once again as a revealing interpreter of atmospheres, playing here in a double sense.

Alone at the piano, she thus serves Hansen’s musical vignettes: quiet, these; distant sometimes to the point of having been really lost: melodies that seem like nothing until they liquefy and then reveal their true content: naive turns and repetitions at a distance changed into large pieces of music in fragments: pieces of an identity that is said in silences, drowsy notes or drifting from a score on a postcard.
