When we observe the sky, we notice that clouds are subject to constant change. A cloud forms when certain complex physical and feedback processes favor it, and dissipates when the disintegrative processes prevail. In between, it is constantly changing, always in motion, being distorted, condensed, shaped, and reshaped. And perhaps we wonder: What was there before? Where were the clouds when the sky was steel blue? What remains afterwards? Where do they go when they dissolve?

DRIFTING CLOUDS emerged when the complex conditions were favorable for a drifting cloud to form in the steel blue sky. Mich Gerber recorded the music in a single take at Greencube Studio with Björn Meyer, allowing us to share in his own cloud formation, transformation, and dissolution.

DRIFTING CLOUDS is an invitation to direct our attention to the fleeting, the passing, the changing. We immerse ourselves in a musical current, yielding to its pull, knowing that this music must come from somewhere and move toward somewhere. Without pause or interruption, in the beauty of transience, for about an hour. We sense that the music was already there before we began to hear it. Like the cloud, whose prerequisites were present before it formed and became visible in the sky. And we are certain that the music remains, even as it fades away, when it dissipates and dissolves.
