Bruno Spoerri (born 1935) began his career as a saxophonist in various Swiss jazz groups. After gaining a degree in psychology, he decided to become a professional musician and composed music for promotional films, documentaries and feature films, television productions and radio plays. He is a pioneer of electronic music and co-founder of the Swiss Center for Computer Music. In 2005, his book, “Jazz in der Schweiz” (“Jazz in Switzerland”), was published, followed in 2010 by “Musik aus dem Nichts: die Geschichte der elektroakustischen Musik in der Schweiz” (“Music from the Void: the History of Electro-acoustic Music in Switzerland”).
