Hemlock Smith & Les Poissons Autistes - Three Times Dead
“Three Times Dead” mixes these two worlds together rather than presenting them as opposites; the sweet Pop loses itself in the drones, the soft Piano intertwines with a screeching guitar, the voice develops ever new facets and mutates into an instrument of its own. Sometimes intimate, like in songs such as “Les Corps Subtils” or “Birmingham”, sometimes like an earthquake (see songs like “The Flat Hands” or “A Space between us”)… The lyrics turn out to be a real trip into movie land, with ghastly figures creeping around in macabre stories. You will meet Charles Bukowski, Richard Widmark, Gene Tierney and a very peculiar legal examiner from Texas. Tales, screams and songs, everything mixes up and is eventually devoured by the Noise. A voyage to the borders of a dream world….
